In the visitor’s browser
The widget keeps a few things in the browser’s own storage for your site, so choices stick from page to page. It sets no cookies.
| Stored as | What it holds |
|---|---|
accessora_settings | The adjustments and profiles the visitor turned on. |
accessoraLanguage | The language they picked in the panel. |
accessora_session_id | A random ID, used to count unique visitors. Reset clears it. |
AccessoraImageCache | A cache of AI alt text already fetched, so images get their description faster on the next visit. Only with AI alt text on. |
Visitors can clear all of it by clearing site data in their browser.
Sent to Accessora
When the widget loads and while it is used, it sends small events to dash.accessora.io:
- The widget loaded on a page (an impression).
- The panel opened or closed.
- An adjustment or profile was used, and which one.
- The language changed, and to which.
- Reset was pressed.
Each event carries your site’s domain ID, the random ID above and a timestamp. That is what the Overview counts. With AI alt text on, the widget also sends the address of the page and of each image on it that has no alt text, so the description can be matched to the image.
Never collected
- Names, email addresses or anything a visitor types into your site
- A trail of the pages a visitor reads. Analytics events carry no page address.
- Cookies, or IDs shared with other sites
- Anything from the visitor’s other tabs or other sites
Your site’s own address and the visitor’s IP address reach our server with every request, as with any web request. The IP address is used to stop abuse with rate limits. It isn’t saved with the analytics.
Other services involved
| Service | When | What it gets |
|---|---|---|
| fonts.bunny.net | Every widget load, for the panel’s font | A request for the font file, from the visitor’s browser |
| Azure AI Vision | When AI alt text writes a description | The image’s address, so it can fetch the image and describe it |
| The browser | Text to Speech | Nothing leaves the device. The browser’s own speech engine reads aloud. |
If your privacy policy lists the tools on your site, add Accessora as an accessibility widget that stores visitor preferences locally and sends anonymous usage counts. Our own privacy policy has the legal detail.
